About the event
Reading is about much more than books. Children build literacy skills through conversations, storytelling, singing, play, and everyday experiences. Join us to learn simple, practical ways to support language, literacy, and learning in your children. Discover how small moments throughout the day can help children develop strong communication skills, a love of learning, and the confidence to succeed in school and life.
By the end of this Parent Café, participants will:
Understand why literacy development begins long before children learn to read.
Identify age-appropriate ways to build literacy skills through everyday routines and interactions.
Explore the connection between literacy, brain development, school readiness, and lifelong success.
Create a plan for incorporating simple literacy-building activities into daily family life.
